My projects showcase my design and development skills in various interdisciplinary fields.

ReVISit is a powerful platform for creating, publishing, and disseminating visualization studies. This project builds on my background to explore how to adapt and expand it to support qualitative and human-centered approaches, as well as studies in complex interactive media.

Just Noticeable Difference (JND) in psychology refers to the minimum level of stimulation that a person can detect 50% of the time. This project aims to evaluate the user response to the opacity JND of visualization outcomes and offer suggestions on visualization projects.

Many people experience euphoria, a positive experience for mental health. Interactive media is a powerful engine that offers intimate experiences. This project builds a simulator to investigate how it can produce expected euphoric experiences and evaluate the design performance.

Explores the impact of visual, auditory, and haptic design in VR on user experience.
Research into the adaptation and cultural localization of murder mystery games in China, namely Jubensha. Focus on the storytelling dynamic through collaborative sensemaking.

Chuan (bracelet) is a cultural alternative controller design project. The project aims to promote the Chinese culture of the βηδΈ²β (playing walnut bracelet) for stress-relieving into cyberlizing.
Developed a HoloLens AR application to train students on assembling lab components safely and efficiently.
My Role: Design, Interface, and Audio.
Virtual walkthroughs and training sessions using 360-degree immersive environments for enhanced remote learning experiences.

Designed and developed a series of content for the project Free Body Diagram App, to train students in the learning and practice of free-body diagram drawing skills for Statics or Mechanics courses.
My Role: Designer, and Lead Artist.
An experimental storytelling project combining origami and non-linear narratives. Explore the story through physical interaction with a treasure box filled with mysterious clues. Exhibited at PAX 2022 East, Boston.

Developed a series of HD game art content with PBR Material Shader for the game Battle Billiards of Petricore. The game is now available on Steam.
My Role: Technical Artist.
A serious simulator that reflects how city administrators can affect pandemic control and prevention. The game involves information collected from actual news sources and scientific data, and the team's positionality as native Wuhan city residents. It was featured in WPI News.
A 30-minute escape room where players had to solve puzzles in order to recapture an entity and remove the lockdown. About 100 players participated over the three days of its run.
My Role: Producer, Lead Designer, and Room Builder.

An experimental strategy game project with team collaboration on the development. Through strategies of resource collecting and management to survive the game.
My Role: Lead Producer, Designer, and Lead Artist.
An award-winning solo-work indie game development project with the exploration of a 3D-to-2D pixel art style and 8-bit audio.
Awards: First Place, Culture Creative Design Competition for College Students in Hubei Province (2018): 80,000 CNY (~$11,428); First Place, Graduation Project Competition (2018): 5,000 CNY (~$714).

An award-winning board game developed collaboratively by our team, which served as the core project for establishing our studio-sized company, the Wuhan KBOOM Network Tech Co. Ltd.
Award: Third Place, Hubei Province Universities Creation Youth Student Entrepreneurship Competition (2016): 10,000 CNY (~$1,428).
